I won something from the radio! And like every other time, I didn’t know what I was calling to win … so anyhow, I won some Jason Mraz stuff (you know, the guy who sings “The Remedy”) including a pair of tickets to his in-studio performance at The Link tomorrow morning, his concert at Treemont Music Hall tomorrow night, and his CD. How cool is that?! 🙂 Unfortunately I can’t use the tickets for tomorrow night… any takers? I won’t charge (much ;)) …
In other news, YYLC is just about here! I’m excited… not about not seeing my husband for nearly a week — but hey, I don’t really get to see him anyhow… :-/ (which just reminded me that I need to update my about me page probably now that I’m hitched). Anyhow, more on that after the fact. Guess that’s it for now.
I hope you enjoyed that in studio performance…stuff like that probably wouldn’t happen anymore now that he’s a big “celebrity” lol! Too bad I didn’t know you when…would have definitely taken those other tickets 🙂
I won tickets (great seats too) back in ’87 to see Bryan Adams. My dad drove me & my sis to the show since I was too young to drive & he was so awesome to just hang in the parking lot the entire concert while we danced around like freaks inside 🙂
That in-studio show was so cool! I mean, it was rough in that it was for something like 8/8:30 AM, but there couldn’t have been more than 30 people there. The closest I’ll ever get to a Java-Joe’s-eque audience for him. Unfortunately he only played 2 songs (“The Remedy” & “Curbside Prophet”), but it was enough to sweep me off my feet. 😉
Seriously, though, had I not won those tickets & cd, I don’t know if I’d have gotten into Mraz beyond the few songs that have gotten radio play. What a sad life I’d be living!
As for the actual concert tickets, one of my best friends got to use them, and he had a blast. I’m still disappointed that I couldn’t go, but it’s good to be able to spread the love. 🙂
I need to get the car radio working again — I haven’t had the chance to win anything from the radio in months now since it hasn’t been working. And I’ve had a pretty rockin’ run with that…
Bryan Adams sounds like it was great!
The first concert I got to go to with my sis (she won the tickets — not so fantastic lawn “seats”) was a Matchbox 20 (w/Semisonic) amphitheater show. It was just before I left for college, and I had *just* (that day, I think) gotten my license, so we went by ourselves, but because I was such a chickensh’t driver, we left to hang out in the parking lot after the second MB20 song or so. We managed to avoid the mad rush out… It was cool though, sitting in the car with my sis, just bs’in’.
