Capture Your Grief Day 15: Wave of Light

Today, October 15th, is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. Tonight, all around the world at 7pm* in our respective time zones, we whose children have left this world before us light candles in our babies’ honor, creating a “wave of light” around the globe.

Capture a your grief day 15: Wave of Light

In honor of John Blaise & Alexander Gregory

* Unless, of course, you’re me and away from home, in which case, the candles are lit when they’re lit. 9:23 here.

torch bearing quietly

I will not act out, will not
yell or curse or slam doors,
will not make a scene -- you
do not deserve such a chance
to make an example out of me
to be proven right since you
are not. Instead, I'll stand
at this street corner, raise
my hand high and clench that
light which yet remains. It
will burn brightly, quietly,
fiercely before fading as I.

Then I'll be gone but found.
